Shigi (紫義) is a character in the manga series Fushigi Yūgi Genbu Kaiden by manga-ka Yuu Watase.

Shigi is a general in the Kotou army, loyal to Prince Hakei. He and his direct subordinate Hien are bent on killing the Genbu Seishi and their Miko, Takiko Okuda. It is revealed later that Shigi was given a place in the army by Hakei at a the age of 12 after being found alone, castrated. He does not have an especially good relationship with Hien, usually ordering him calmly about. However, in chapter 19 their friendship starts to grow when they cautiously talk about their pasts. Their relationship is good enough that Hien is prepared to wait in the freezing cold for a bathing Shigi (unwittingly witnessed by Takiko).

Shigi has a calm and cruel personality. He is always smiling, even while torturing or killing, and is very polite in his manner of speech. He believes strongly that Genbu must not be summoned, at all costs, even going so far as to kill the Oracle Anlu, the guardian of the warrior Namame, when she predicts that Takiko will succeed in summoning Genbu.
