Shi Yi was an officer serving under Sun Quan, Emperor of the Wu Dynasty from 222 to 252 during the Three Kingdoms period in China. He is a major figure in both the novel and the actual historical events.
Shi Yi was the younger brother of Shi Xie. During Yi's service under Sun Quan, he became a very high ranking official, but ended up being expelled from his position as officer when one of his nephews, Shi Hui caused a rebellion.
Shi Yi was later executed for a simple violation of the law.
