Birth: 1935 Death: Feb. 18, 2000

Canadian Broadcaster. A noted broadcaster and journalist, Turcott is better known as the host of the television series, "TimeChase" and host of the popular CBC news program, "Midday" for many years. In his journalist career he covered stories from Iran, the Middle East, Vietnam, Cambodia, to Hong Kong. Turcott also worked on another well-known Canadian news program, "The National" as an executive producer. Turcott also appeared in the films, "Under Pressure" (1996), "Murder At 1600" (1997), "Bad Day On The Block" (1997), "Rocky Marciano" (1999), and "Dead Aviators" (1999), all in the roles of TV reporters. Turcott retired from journalim in 1995 and died in Toronto, Ontario, in February 2000 at the age of 64. (bio by: KP)
