Sher Alam Ibrahimi

Sher Alam Ibrahimi is the Governor of Ghazni Province. A former Mujahadeen - warlord fighter associated with Rasool Sayyaf, Ibrahmi was a police chief in Kabul before being appointed to his post in 2005 [1]. As with many politicians with roots in the country's violent past, Ibrahimi is a source of controversy. His campaigners were accused of threats and intimidation during the 2005 Afghanistani election [2] and in 2006 he was one of a number of Sayyaf's allies to be accused of appropriating land near Kabul [3].

In 2006, he survived a Taliban attack on his life.
