Sheppard J. Solomon (Born Sheppard J. Solomon on December 12, 1969 in New York City, NY) is an American songwriter.

Born and raised in New York City, he attended the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. Upon graduation, Sheppard formed two bands with his songwriting and singing skills, signed to EMI and SIRE respectively. During this time, Sheppard had cause to write with other songwriters for his artistic endeavors and penned his first UK #1 single entitled “Just A Step From Heaven” which was performed by the girl group Eternal (band).

Sheppard decided to focus on songwriting full-time and went on to notch up 14 Top #3 single positions in the UK & Europe, including his second #1 UK single with “Don't Stop Movin' (S Club 7 song)” covered by the group S Club (formally known as S Club 7). This single also secured Sheppard a BRIT Award for Song of the Year.

With Sheppard's position consolidated as one of the premier lyric/melody writers in the UK & Europe, he decided to focus his energies back home in the United States and proceeded to co-write many cuts with artists such as Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson, Celine Dion, and Enrique Iglesias. Sheppard then went onto write Ryan Cabrera's “True (Ryan Cabrera song)” which charted at #4 CHR, and winning Sheppard a BMI award for Best Song. With Sheppard's U.S. profile rising, he looked to Europe again and wrote the song “Shiver” for Natalie Imbruglia which went onto be a #1 Pan European airplay hit. Additionally, Sheppard wrote Paris Hilton's first single “Stars Are Blind,” which was a worldwide top #5 single for Sheppard.

To date, Sheppard has had 140 of his songs recorded and released worldwide.
