Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser Al-Missned

Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al-Missned (Arabic: موزة بنت ناصر المسند) is the second of the three wives of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar. She is the daughter of Nasser Abdullah Al-Missned.

She graduated from the University of Qatar in 1986 with a BA in Sociology and holds several posts in Qatar and internationally:

  • Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, the current heir apparent.

  • Joaan Hamad Al-Thani
  • Khalifa Hamad Al-Thani
  • Mohammed Hamad Al-Thani
  • Al-Mayassa Hamad Al-Thani
  • Hind Hamad Al-Thani

Unlike many other monarchial wives in the Middle East, Sheikha Mozah has been a high-profile figure in her nation's politics and society, actively involved in Qatar's government. She was a driving force behind Education City and Al Jazeera Children's Channel.

Sheikha Moza was recently honored with an honorary doctorate from Carnegie Mellon University and Georgetown University's Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service in the United States.
