Talk:Shauna O'Brien
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Breast Wing - She stars in this with Kim Chambers and Lisa Ann, but I can't find the name of the fourth actress. Does anyone know her name?
- Which episode?
- She's a blonde in the first two episodes.
I know who you are talking about, but I don't have a name. There were only three episodes of TBW, and though you can download the videos, the only official place for them is Dannii Ashe's sight, and you have to be a member to see the details of the show. Sucks, cause the girl looks like a sluttier version of Donna Moss (a character from The West Wing). But I don't think she's a pornstar. She's either a b-actress or model, like Shauna. [edit] Porn
Although she's posed nude for a website and has done numerous softcore films, that's different than "pornography" which is primarily dealing with hardcore sex. For this reason I have removed her from the two porn categories; the adult model category is sufficient. 68.146.41.232 23:16, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
- Pornography can mean anything between soft-core and hard-core; since we're going to go by the dictionary definition of pornography, which is "printed or visual material containing the explicit description or display of sexual organs or activity, intended to stimulate erotic rather than aesthetic or emotional feelings", Ms. O'Brien qualifies. While I'm not about to revert your good faith changes, by the definition above, she definitely qualifies as a pornography actor. Thus I feel that the categories should be reapplied. -- Joe Beaudoin Jr. Think out loud 00:38, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
Definitely not, unless the softcore label is added to it. It's common knowledge that the term pornography, at least by today's standards, is almost exclusively reserved for hardcore content, at least in the way we are using it. Labing her as a pornographic actress would be insulting. 98.195.179.37 04:27, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
- It's debatable, and it's certainly not "common knowledge", I'm afraid. Also, we don't go by "common knowledge", which varies depending on a person's point of view and upbringing. Let's look at what Merriam-Webster has to say in defining the word. According to them:
- 1 : the depiction of erotic behavior (as in pictures or writing) intended to cause sexual excitement 2 : material (as books or a photograph) that depicts erotic behavior and is intended to cause sexual excitement 3 : the depiction of acts in a sensational manner so as to arouse a quick intense emotional reaction
- Under that, Ms. O'Brien's body of work qualifies. (See my response above.) -- Joe Beaudoin Jr. Think out loud 04:40, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
Why not stamp the pornographic label on Gwen Stefani's page while you are at it? She would fit right in under that third definition. Anyway, if it's not "common knowledge" to you that pornography is considered by the casual person to be hardcore sex, then perhaps you shouldn't be playing junior mod on this woman's page. 98.195.179.37 (talk) 13:47, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
