[edit] Text supplied by Shane Kelly

Since I am about to (again) remove publicity text taken directly from Shane Kelly or his agent, I think I should explain myself.

Biographies on Wikipedia are not the same as personal publicity. And it is Wikipedia policy for people not to edit their own entries. See Wikipedia:Autobiography.

Also, the text supplied is not written in encyclopedic style. Phases like "incredibly", "testament to his perseverance and true sportsmanship" or "the race of truth" are value judgements and do not (in my opinion) belong in an encyclopedia article. See Wikipedia:Neutral point of view.

This is not meant to disrespect Shane Kelly, who I admire as an athlete. But it is about what is appropriate for Wikipedia. Look at the Wikipedia article for any other athlete, or indeed any other well known person. I think you will judge that what I (mainly) have written has been fair, and consistent with Wikipedia style.

By the way, it IS perfectly appropriate insert a link to an athlete's personal profile or home page. I suggest you add that, instead of removing the entire Wikipedia text and substituting it with Kelly's own personal profile.
