[edit] Centre Avenue
Centre Avenue is the borderline between E. Liberty and Shadyside so the retail outlets on the southern side of Centre are wholly within Shadyside according to the official city definitions. I agree that this should not exclude having those establishments claimed by and mentioned in the East Liberty article, neither should they be excluded from the official definition of Shadyside. I feel that this is pretty cut and dry and that the description provided accurately portrays reality, that Centre Avenue while wholly within Shadyside is its border and serves into the East Liberty neighborhood. I am open to suggestions but please don't randomly delete factual information without discussion, if you have an argument placing the one side of Centre inside of Shadyside (the city could have made the busway the border) the city-county building are the people to write to. Open to ideas on this but given the facts I feel the description provided is most reflective of reality. Thanks. Hholt01 00:07, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
- I agree. However, I took out Trader Joe's because it's on the north(east) side of Penn, in 'sliberty. — brighterorange (talk) 02:09, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
- My bad, thanks for the assist, and by all means I think E. Liberty gets to claim these Centre Avenue venues as well -Hholt01

- Yes, it does. Some companies, such as PNC, are trying to call the area East Side, a la the North Shore, so they don't have to have the area's reputation, but much has been made of the commercialization of East Liberty. --Chris Griswold (☎☓) 09:39, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
- Everything I have read and heard about this area was that it was E. Liberty. The interactive map says otherwise. I will have to look further. Trader Joe's is E. Lib, though. --Chris Griswold (☎☓) 09:47, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
- Based on some city planning information I saw over the weekend and an interview I had with the staff at the PNC East Side branch, it's the busway and not Centre that separates the two neighborhoods. --Chris Griswold (☎☓) 13:28, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
