Shane Porteous (born 17 August 1942 in Coleraine, Victoria) is an Australian actor.
He remains best known for playing Dr. Terence Elliott in the television drama series A Country Practice for its twelve-year run on the Seven Network from 1981 to 1993.
Other TV credits include: Catch Kandy, Homicide, Matlock Police, The Box in 1974, Number 96 in 1977, Glenview High, Neighbours, Home and Away and Blue Heelers. He has also written scripts for several television series, sometimes under the name John Hanlon.
