Shane O'Brien (born August 9, 1983) is a Canadian defenceman for Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League. He was born in Port Hope, Ontario.

  • Scored his first NHL goal against the Detroit Red Wings on October 18, 2006. He completed the night with a Gordie Howe hat trick by getting an assist and a fight against Brad Norton. It was his first career multi-point NHL game.
  • Scored a goal and two assists against the Vancouver Canucks on November, 9, 2006. It was his first multiple-assist NHL game.
  • Both of his goals in the 10/18 Detroit game and the 11/9 Vancouver game were considered game-winning-goals.
  • NHLPA named him player of the day on 11/10/2006.
  • April 12, 2007 - O'Brien makes NHL Stanley Cup Playoff debut in Round 1. Tampa Bay vs. New Jersey.
