Shane McFaul, born in Dublin on May 23, 1986, is a footballer currently playing for Eircom League side UCD.

During his career, he has also played for Virginia Beach Mariners and Brighton who deemed him too poor to stay in the UK so packed him back to Paddyland.

Shane made his Republic of Ireland U21 debut in a friendly game against Germany on the 21st August 2007. He was also an unused sub in the European Under-21 Football Championship Qualifying games against Portugal and England.

Shane agreed to join Brighton on a free transfer until the end of the 2007/08 season on the 11th January 2008.[1]

Shane made his Brighton debut coming on as a late substitute during the 3-0 home victory over Crewe.

Shane was also called up to play for the Ireland U21's squad against England on the 5th February 2008 which was played at Southampon's St Mary's Stadium. Shane was an un-used substitute on the night.

On the 6 May 2008, it was revealed that McFaul, was to be released from the club.[2]

Shane returned to Ireland and re-signed for UCD on the 15 May 2008.[3]
