Shailkupa is located at 23.6917° N 89.2500° E . It has 51595 units of house hold and total area 373.42 km².

As of 1991 Bangladesh census^[1], Shailkupa has a population of 293341. Males constitute are 51.43% of the population, and females 48.57%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 151516. Shailkupa has an average literacy rate of 26.3% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. ^[2]
