Shab-e-Yalda

Shab-e-Yalda is a pagan Iranian holiday which longest night of the year and marks the beginning of winter. Families get together and eat fruits and nuts (especially Watermelon and Pomegrante). This holiday occurs on December 21st. It celebrates the birth of Mithra, the goddess of Sun.
