[edit] Summary

Air-to-air left side view of five SH-3H Sea King anti-submarine warfare helicopters from Helicopter Anti-submarine Squadron 12 (HS-12) flying in formation. The date given - 29 Jan 1995 - has to be wrong, since HS-12 was disestablished on 30 Nov 1994. Using 740s tactical numbers HS-12 was deployed aboard USS America (CV-66) as part of Carrier Air Wing 11 in 1979. Helicopter "742" seems to wear CVW-11s tailcode "NH", whereas helicopters "740" and "741" wear the tailcode of Carrier Air Wing 15, "NL". However, HS-12 was later deployed aboard the carriers USS Midway (CV-41) and USS Independence (CV-62) as part of Carrier Air Wing 5, tailcode "NF". Origin: US Defense Visual Information System ID DN-SC-85-10615
