From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sh'or Yoshuv is a Haredi yeshiva headed by Rabbi Naftali Jaeger who serves as its Rosh Yeshiva and Rabbi Avrohom Halpern as it's Menahel. The school was founded in 1967 by Rabbi Shlomo Freifeld, former mashgiach ruchani ("dean of students") at Yeshiva Rabbi Chaim Berlin. Rabbi Freifeld of blessed memory was a master pedagogue whose insights into people and what could motivate them was literally unparalleled. The school was located in Far Rockaway from its inception until 2003, when it moved to Lawrence, New York. The Yeshiva now occupies several buildings, the facilities include a large Bais Medrash, classrooms, English and Hebrew libraries, a gymnasium, and dormitory accommodations.

Students come to Sh’or Yoshuv from the surrounding community and diverse locations from all over the world. The yeshiva accepts students from the age of 17 and older. Ranging in backgrounds and educational experience, Sh'or Yoshuv caters to both the novice and the experienced Torah scholar, the Baal teshuva and the advanced yeshiva-educated youth.
