The Sgt. Alvin C. York State Historic Park on U.S. Route 127 in Pall Mall, Tennessee, exists as a tribute to World War I hero Sgt. Alvin C. York.
The park, on the banks of the Wolf River, includes the York family farm, the grist mill (built in 1880)[3] that York owned and operated from 1943 to the end of his life,[4] a general store, York's burial site and the York Bible School.[5] A museum at the site displays a collection of historical photographs, York family portraits, and Alvin York's personal items.[6]
Andrew York, one of the sons of Alvin York, is a park ranger at the homesite.[6]
The York farm was designated a National Historic Landmark on May 11, 1976.[7][1][8]
It is located on United States Route 127 near Pall Mall, about nine miles north of Jamestown.
