I understand that we want to keep this box as pared down as possible (the old one was really excessive; I feel the same about the Christianity box when I stumble across it), I feel that Conventions are a needed part of said infobox; in terms of 'ways that professionals communicate to fans', be that producing and acting in shows, writing books, etc., it's definitely a type unto itself. I know I keep instinctively expecting it to be there as I go through SF pages; when I want more Convention info, I naturally gravitate to that quick nav.

I would also really like to add one more thing to it; magazines. Though there is not a similar formatted list of magazines at this point, and indeed, the entry does make the comment that magazines are in decline, the store I work at carries about 40 SF magazines that are SF magazines, almost none of which are listed at that article. Some of them are not yet notable (ie, Blood, Blade & Thruster is on its third issue), some of which have committed the sin of being Canadian (though much like Avt tor and myself, we all seem to be getting along fine in the States ;-) - the bookstore I work at in Cambridge, MA, sells more copies of On Spec each month than it does Asimov's per issue). But for coming down from the very top level, I do think that magazines do deserve their own section in terms of types of 'science fiction delivery methods'.--Thespian 09:13, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
