"History--In August of 1956, Ed Sullivan was nearly killed in an automobile accident that occurred near his country home in Seymour and had to take a medical leave from the show..."

Is this fact true? I always remembered hearing that he lived in Southbury, not Seymour. (Southbury is a close by town, about 8 miles from Seymour). It even says "Southbury" on the Ed Sullivan page.

I believe you're correct, although it is very possible that the accident happened in Seymour.
