Sexless Demons And Scars is the debut album by Jack Off Jill, famous for their single My Cat. At the time the group consisted of Jessicka, Agent Moulder, Ho Ho Spade, and Lauracet Simpson. Original members Michelle Inhell and Tenni Ah-Cha-Cha left the band a few months prior to the recording.

Sexless Demons And Scars was recorded at the legendary Criteria Studios, located in Miami, Florida, most famous for recording artists such as the Bee Gees, Eric Clapton, Crosby, Stills and Nash, The Eagles, and Fleetwood Mac. Producer Don Fleming, who (at the time) was best known for his band Gumball and his production work for Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr. and early Hole was brought in to help the fledgling rock band find its sound. Toward the end of the recording session once all the instruments were tracked, Fleming suggested that singer Jessicka stick her head in a baby grand piano in order to record her last vocal performance. After miking the piano from the inside, Jessicka sang hidden track Angels Fuck Devils Kiss (later shortened to Angels Fuck) from inside the piano in one take, which included an unrehearsed nervous breakdown fueled by too much alcohol and exhaustion, which Fleming captured and used in the track's final mix.

Founder of the band Monster Magnet Dave Wyndorf was originally asked to produce Sexless Demons And Scars but had to decline because he was busy recording his own album Powertrip.
