Imperial Russian battleship Sevastopol built 1911. Renamed Parizhskaya Kommuna 31 March 1921. Fought in World War II in the Black Sea as a floating battery in support of Soviet land forces fighting Nazi invasion. Renamed Sevastopol May 31, 1943. Scrapped 1957.
Ship appears to be flying the Soviet Naval Ensign (1923-1935) which was a white sunburst design on a red background with a small central white circle with a red star containing a smaller white hammer and sickle. Details are obscured on photo. The ship's bow is the earliest version prior to overhaul in 1925.
