[edit] Religious leaders category organization
(See general discussion at Category talk:Religious leaders#Organization proposal. This section is for Adventist-specific discussion.)
We have five main levels of leadership in the Adventist church (if you include pastors):
- General Conference presidents
- Division presidents
- Union presidents
- Conference presidents
- Pastors
Which name should we give to categories for them? I think that putting "Seventh-day Adventist" first in the category titles makes them clear and consistent, for example Category:Seventh-day Adventist General Conference presidents, Category:Seventh-day Adventist pastors etc. People would be classified in the highest applicable category, analogous to the classification used for Roman Catholic clergy. Perhaps other positions in the hierarchy should be considered, e.g. Field Secretary etc., but I imagine that these are not notable enough by themselves.
Other naming options would be: Category:Presidents of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, Category:Presidents of the Seventh-day Adventist General Conference, etc. -Colin MacLaurin 12:32, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
- By the way I created the Category:Seventh-day Adventists so we could keep the people seperate from the things. So if we're going to create a bunch of new people categories, I'd like to sub-cat them under the category I created (which is subcat to the main cat already). Thanks. - Of course; I took that as a given! Colin MacLaurin 13:59, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
