[edit] translation of the word 'seu'
The word 'seu', in portuguese, literally means your (or yours), but it also may translate into a colloquial abbreviation of 'mister'. However, Jorge stated more than once to the brazilian MTV that, in his case, 'seu' comes from 'seu criado, seu amigo' (something like 'your friend, at your service'). Since, the correct meaning of his stage name should be Your George, not Mr. George. (mini update: sorry, I forgot to sign before) Leobarudi 11:14, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
My Brazilian friend told me it was like the "Your" in "Your Majesty" ... a formal "Your". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.212.107.61 (talk) 02:57, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] studio sessions
I just added it under solo, it's all him (doing all the bowie covers in the studio). Looks like a solo album to me. (as much as Bowie's Pinups is)
[edit] IPA Pronunciation
I think it would be helpful to add the IPA pronunciation of his name. I don't speak Portuguese, but it seems as if it should probably be something like: [seu ʒɔɾʒ] Can anyone confirm this?
close- i'm pretty sure it's /seu ʒɔɾʒi/, with the extra vowel on the end. though i don't speak portuguese either, i am currently taking a class on brazilian music, and it seems like words ending in a fricative/affricate + the letter "e" have the e pronounced as /i/. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.200.80.162 (talk) 17:44, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
Alright I am fluent in Portuguese and the proper way to say Seu is a lot more simple than people are making it. The easiest way to pronounce would be to combine the words say and you. If you put the words next to each other and say them quickly you get say-you. I don't like using the crazy symbols when it's easier to just tell you how it sounds. I hope this can help out -Windorf —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.135.146.33 (talk) 18:22, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Album of the year?
I removed this line from the article. I would like to know the source of this info. Who declared that?
- His album Samba Esporte Fino was declared the Album of the Year in Brazil.
[edit] Life Aquatic Studio Sessions
FYI, The Life Aquatic Studio Sessions Featuring Seu Jorge is due for release by Hollywood Records on November 22, 2005. I am not sure yet if it will belong in the "solo" or "featuring" list yet. — Eoghanacht talk 20:09, 7 November 2005 (UTC)

See discussion here.
[edit] Collaborations
Shouldn't this secion be expanded or just completly taken out. Besides what is listed, there are 2 albums with Ana Caroilina (one studio & one live), and various songs with artists such as Alexandre Grooves, Forro in the Dark, Cibelle, and BiD. I am sure there are others, as I have almost no exposure to Brazillian music with the exception of what I occassionally stumble across. If it is worth trying to expand let me know and I will. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.138.255.129 (talk) 16:38, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
