Talk:Set-n-Forget cooker
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I've noticed since i first posted this article last night two different articles are now using photos which first featured in this article.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_fryer
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_fat_fryer
I don't believe this article should be deleted, it is a unique deep fryer which attempted to automate the process of deep frying back in the 1970's. However, unfortunately the Set-n-Forget Deep Fryer ultimately failed!!!! Why, probably because the use of canisters hindered the process of deep frying. However, I'm not totally sure of the reason and was hoping some one may recognise the deep fryer and offer an explanation.
Another reason why this article should not be deleted.
The person who invented it was John Joyce - a influential Australian designer and inventor (who lived between (1938-2002). He designed a complete class of Formula racing cars (Bowin Cars) in the 60's & 70's and went on to invent the LO-NOx burner - a significant contribution to the gas appliance industry in 1990. The set n forget deep fryer was another invention of his, which fell between those two periods of his life. In this context the article is of more value. If someone has a better Idea for incorporation please let me know.

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Set and forget.gif
Image:Set and forget.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
