[edit] TRNC

Hi,

You're absolutely right, the present article does not describe the TRNC in a way like other countries are described on Wikipedia, but more like a political problem. I did try to make some amends such as describing how Turkish Cypriots came to the island following 1571 and how the TRNC came into being from the conflicts through 63-74. But these edits were reverted as being out of place and the page subsequently locked (see Talk:Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus where i argued for more information on its history). If you want to add more information about Turkish Cypriot culture and so on i would be in full agreement.

You're also right about independence of TRNC not being declared until 1983, that is factually incorrect at the moment. --A.Garnet 14:19, 12 September 2005 (UTC)

I concur. your points are well made. When the page is unlocked, I would like to see that you make the changes you suggested. FYI, I created a page called Foreign Relations of Northern Cyprus for items from the original page that would be more appropriate there. --Expatkiwi 16:03, 12 September 2005 (UTC)

I suggest you contact the Wikipedia administators through the help desk to see about unblocking the page as it appears the the person who actally blocked the site in the first place is no longer available. --Expatkiwi 00:56, 13 September 2005 (UTC)

FYI, I followed your lead and created a site for the political aspect of the TRNC titled Politics of Northern Cyprus. Please check and make any changes you deem necessary. --Expatkiwi 00:35, 14 September 2005 (UTC)

The TRNC site has now been unblocked. I've been doing my best to implement your suggestions (interference by pro-GCPOV's nonwithstanding). Perhaps you can now start putting in your share......--Expatkiwi 01:40, 30 September 2005 (UTC)
