A serverbuster, similar to a doorbuster, is a very low-priced or free item designed to draw people to a website, such as during Black Friday or Cyber Monday. As such, items being sold at a loss to the retailer are not uncommon during serverbuster events. The term originates from the frequency of server crashes that result from shoppers exceeding server capacity during these sales. Unlike during brick and mortar doorbuster sales, the sale cannot continue after a server crash.
