Sergey Nikitin

Sergey Yakovlevich Nikitin (Russian: Сергей Яковлевич Никитин, born March 8, 1944) is a prominent Russian bard, composer, and biophysicist. He usually performs together with his wife, Tatyana Nikitina, and tours Russia, the former Soviet republics, and other countries with significant populations of Russian-speaking immigrants.
The couple is especially known for being one of the very few Russian composers and singers of songs for children.

- 1962-1968- Graduated from the Physics Department of Moscow State University
- 1962 - Authored his first song, Hit the road (В дорогу).
- 1963-1968 - Made a member of a male quartet: Nikitin, Sergei Smirnov, Boris Geller, Aleksei Monakhov, and later Vadim Khait
- 1968-1971 - Postgraduate study in Biophysics at Moscow State University.
- 1968-1977 - Member of a Quintet: Sergey and Tatiana Nikitin, Carmen Santacreu, Vladimir Ulin, and Nikolai Turkin
- 1971-1980 - Researcher at Zelinsky Institute of Organic Chemistry in Moscow
- 1980-1987 - Researcher at the Institute for Biophysics Puschino; Ph.D in Physics (1983).
- 1987-1995 - Chief Musician of the Oleg Tabakov Theater
- since 1995 - Full time singer and composer
