Serang Regency

Serang is a regency of Banten province, Indonesia. The administrative center of the regency and the capital of the province is the city of Serang. The regency has an area of 1,734.095 km² and population of 1,834,514 (2005). Serang is about 10 km from Old Banten, the province's former capital. Merak, a major port and ferry terminal, is located just west of the regency.

Serang is bounded by Java Sea to the north, Tangerang Regency to the east, Lebak Regency to the south, and Cilegon to the west.

The regency is divided into 32 subdistricts. The one of that subdistrict is Tjinangka.
