[edit] 5 September

Hello. I fail to understand why you called Jack Kerouac's On the Road non-notable in your latest diff. Thank you Comte0 18:37, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

The fact that a book went on sale is not a globally notable event. See here for information about notability for Wikicalendar articles. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 19:22, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Ah. Then I think it's covered: Dates of completion or premiere of major works of art . As for the "globally notable" part, see the influence on the beatles. Regards Comte0 08:21, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
Anything in the non-notable section trumps anything in the notable section because it is a little more granular (IMO). I wouldn't call any book a major work of art. If it was, then everyone would be arguing that their favorite book belongs on the list. And the term 'beat' didn't come from the book and Paul McCartney has said that the spelling of the name came from the 'beat' of a drum so the book's influence on the Beatles is questionable. What influence did the book have in South Africa or the Soviet Union or China? Now we're talking global notability. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 12:39, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
