Select Live is a jukebox show where people request a music video of their choice which they want to see on TV. This show is currently airing on C4 in New Zealand. People can request (or vote) for their song by text message with each song being assigned a code, which is sent in. Select Live has over 100 songs in their list. In March 2005, the old "Select" show was given a new look, new name (Select Live) and new host (Joel Defries). It was given a live feel with the host taking callers and handing out prizes, this move proved very successful for C4 as the Select Live brand has become a household name among young New Zealanders. The show is popular in its 4pm-6:30pm time slot with young teens. On the contrary, viewing figures declined from 2006 as the show frequently obtains 2-3% share in their time slot, compared with 6-7% in 2005. In recent episodes, it received as low as 1% share. As of April 10, 2006, Vodafone sponsors Select Live. Joel Defries had his last time on Select Live on the August 3, 2007 which he is now leaving Select Live to go back the United Kingdom. Jermaine Leef is now the new host for Select Live and a new C4 presenter who first appeared on August 6, 2007.
