[edit] Template documentation

This template is used in conjuction with the the terminator |} (or the template {{hab}}) to create a segment of initially hidden text which can be displayed by clicking on a button labelled "[show]". Its primary purpose is for parenthesizing useful supplementary information on a topic, such as a mathematical proof, which may be too voluminous for a footnote, but too distracting for a reader who merely wants to gain a light overview of the topic. Any text placed between the template and the terminator will not initially appear on the page where it has been inserted. By default, the message 'Click "show" for further information.' will be displayed instead, and a button labelled "[show]" will appear to the right of this message. Clicking on the "show" button will cause the hidden text to be displayed, and the "show" button to be replaced with a "hide" button. Clicking on "hide" will then cause the page to return to its original state.

[edit] Without parameters

{{seemore}}
Supplementary text to be parenthesized
|}

[edit] With all parameters

{{seemore | message= | width= }}
Supplementary text to be parenthesized

In all cases there must be newlines separating the template from the text to be parenthesized and the text from the terminator. If this rule is not followed results may be unpredictable.

  • message: Message to be displayed. (default: 'Click "show" for further information.' )
