Please do not add commercial links or links to your own private websites to Wikipedia, as you did in Interpersonal communication. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or a mere collection of external links. You are, however, encouraged to add content instead of links as long as the content abides by our policies and guidelines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Thanks. --AbsolutDan (talk) 00:21, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
Please stop adding commercial or personal-website links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming, and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising. Thanks. Mwanner | Talk 19:41, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] External links
Several links to websites which I added appear to have a controversial impact. I would incourage users to review the links, websites themselves more thouroughly expecially for the more controversial topics which have content with commercial tendencies. I have seen for the most part other users re add links which I have previously posted at a later on. I have also made comments on the talk pages of links that I believe deserve my efforts to justifying their position.
If you review more thouroughly newsly found websites, you will become more knowledgeble of the subject matter further. More knowledge and understanding can be achieved from understanding of why certain users have an inkling for a website.
Alternatively it is possible to concentrate on topics most related to your own knowledge. Also, feel encouraged to leave a suggestion on the talk page, prior to edditing a link when you're not certain, but still want to contribute. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Seductionreport.com (talk • contribs) 16:36, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
- Please review WP:EL and WP:SPAM. As Wikipedia is aiming for a print version, we are in need of more cited content from reliable sources, not more external links. Links should also not be added en masse.
- Your mentioning use of the talk page to discuss a link is correct, except it's vice-versa - potentially controversial links should be discussed on the talk page before adding them to the article. --AbsolutDan (talk) 02:09, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
