Talk:Sedona method

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This page walks a very close border to advertising. I have removed some of the more subjective, unsubstantiated commentary. I concur with the suggestion that the page be merged with Release Technique. - CheshireKatz 17:07, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Why?

Why would someone have *deleted* the (historical) remainder of what had been here (as indicated by this article's history) as part of this Discussion page? I fail to understand the reasoning behind doing so in *any* circumstance. At least, if you're going to delete something, please leave a comment about having done so and your reasoning behind your decision to do so. Nemodomi 04:16, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] No Merging, Please

One thing that I love about Wikipedia: it gives people a chance who actually know something about a topic to work on articles. This is not meant as a critcism of others, but more as a friendly reminder. The article as it stands is a bit more factual and descriptive. It needs more detail, though, and sources.

The Sedona Method has an interesting history that has to be gleaned from anecdotal evidence. It is distinct in many ways from The Release Technique, as the two teachers, Hale Dwoskin and Larry Crane, take very different approaches to Lester Levenson's original material. If anything, the two entries should be expanded to included more information on the techniques and how they differ. Further, an entry on Lester Levenson would be appropriate with a link to the published material available on Lester.

I thoroughly disagree that these are "commercials" for a specific product. That is like saying the entry for "Harry Potter" is a commercial for the books. Just because you are discussing a commercial product does not in any way invalidate the inclusion of the material in Wikipedia. A large chunko of the Wiki would have to be removed if that were the case. Tangosierra13 16:45, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Criticism

I added criticism to this page because there are indeed many followers of Buddhism who find his way of profiteering the religions ideals as his own somewhat disconcerting.
