"It is incorrect to state that till recently SEBI lacked the legal expertise needed to sustain prosecutions/enforcement actions. It is doing injustice to the dedicated team of legal professionals who have been working in SEBI's legal department on permanent basis. The recruitment from top law campuses has started way back in 1994. It is fatually incorrect to state that it has recently started recruiting from top law campuses. It is doubtful whether it has found reasonable success in such recruitment. It is a different case whether a Government organisation can go for campus recruitment without following the Employment Echange laws."
