Talk:Secondary education in France
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Rather too much of this article is written as a comparison with the American education system which is fine if you're an American reader but not very helpful for a worldwide readership. What is a junior high school for instance? I've done my best to remove the American references but I don't know enough about the subject to do any more. I also wonder about the use of the American word "grade" to describe the various stages of French secondary education and wondered if form, year or level might be more appropriate words to use. I found a rather large mistake in the table about the streams that can be chosen : Série S is NOT a nutural science stream, it is a general sciences stream in wich you can chose to specialise in Phyisics, Chemestry, Math, Engeniring Sciences and Natural Sciences. You can take a BAC S stream without ever haven gone to a natural science class in during studies at a lycee if you take ISI (introduction to engeniring sciences) and ISP (Introduction to production sciences) in 2nd.
