Talk:Second Lieutenant

[edit] Probationary Rank
Is it worth mentioning that Second Lieutenant is a probationary rank in the British army, and promotion to Lieutenant is automatic after 2 years? (That is providing you don't make any major foul ups) --81.171.193.118 13:39, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
It is also worth noting that Sublieutenant is the lowest, and probationary, commissioned rank in the Royal Navy. And is the rank all Naval Officer Cadets are bestowed upon graduating their initial 8 week training course.

[edit] Pronunciation
Currently the pronunciations under the British and Commonwealth sections are malformed, and I do not know how they need to be, nor the syntax to, correct them.

[edit] German Rank
There may also be need to make a more spefic reference to the German use of the word "Leutnant" as it appears many users, and editors correct the spelling of the correct "Leutnant" on German biographical entries, for the American Rank, and English word, Lieutenant.

Turkey: Asteğmen is wrong. Second Lieutenant is Teğmen. Asteğmen is Under Second Lieutenant —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cybersonic82 (talk • contribs) 12:26, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
