[edit] Was Kaspiysk a terrorist attack?

Isn't it so that, if rebels specifically target soldiers, it's officially not a terrorist attack? If I take a look at the figures here [1] it says 34 died. Of those 19 were soldiers and 12 children. The other 3 were reported as musicans or war veterans (who also wore a military suit). The conclusion is that the majority that died because of this attack were soldiers. The fact that kids died along with it doesn't necessarily prove that it's a terrorist attack. Sometimes when Coalition troops in Afghanistan or Iraq are attacking insurgents, civilians die as well including children. As long as it's unintential it's seen as an accident, collateral dammage etc.

However, doesn't an IED need to be triggered from closeby? If so he could have seen kids walked by as well. Just wondering... - PietervHuis (talk) 00:05, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
