Star Wars: Second Strike was one of the first Star Wars fan audio drama projects to be released on the internet. It was the second in production, behind Rise of Nobility, released nearly one year later. In the story, a Special Ops team known as Valkan's Rayzurs tries to infiltrate the planet Ferri'sol, the site of four previous battles between the New Republic and the Imperial Remnant. Hidden on Ferri'sol is the FlashDeath Project, a virus that can destroy a planet's ecosystem in days.
Second Strike was written by Nathan P. Butler (who later wrote a story for the Dark Horse Comics official comic series Star Wars Tales) and mixed by Butler and Chris Hanel(also a fan production creator, who directed the fan film The Formula and co-wrote Return of Pink Five).
