One of my interests is the show Rescue 911. Recently, I have been working on constructing the page List of Rescue 911 episodes, with possible future plans to create a page on each individual episode. I am currently studying the feasibility of such by examining individual pages on episodes of other TV shows, and seeing how they are written and what makes them notable enough to stand. Still, with more than 200 episodes of Rescue 911 that were originally aired, doing so could take years.

I am trying to compile the following information for all Rescue 911 stories:

  • The name of the individual stories given by the programmers
  • The date the event occurred
  • The place where the event occurred (city, state/province, etc.)
  • A link to the video
  • The location where the event occurred on Google Street View (unless it is a private residence; a high-rise apartment is okay). As SV becomes available in more areas, the location of the events can be found more often. Sometimes, identifying this location is a piece of cake from the information given in the story; others times, it takes a lot more studying of meager amounts of information given. Anyway, whenever I can positively identify the location, I do provide the link.
  • External links to news articles on the event. This is rare, because most of these events occurred 15-20 years ago, and few links to news article that long ago exist. Many of these events, however, were in the news when they took place.
  • Internal links to Wikipedia articles on the events. These exist for a small number of stories.
  • Internal links to people involved in these events, though this is rare.

I may also in the future try to list the names of the people who were involved in these stories.

The stories that aired on Rescue 911 do have some degree of notability on their own. All of these events are true stories that really happened. Many of them were on, at the very least, the local news where they occurred. Some of these events shown were not recreations, but rather were news footage. The challenge is finding the news stories since they happened so long ago, and are rarely archived online.
