Omitted that I've discovered: shortly after Maine became an independent state, a 20.5 mile canal connecting the lake to Portland was dug. Eel Weir Dam is on what is left of this canal, the other dam on the natural river outler. GRBerry 02:26, 5 May 2006 (UTC)

I know that the inflow and outflow numbers for the lake don't balance. They don't in the source I got them from. The lake is not significantly growing, so something is missing... GRBerry 02:42, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

Evaporation, maybe? JamesofMaine 01:02, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Massive improvement

... since the last time I browsed by this article. Thought it deserved more than just a little stub. Thanks for putting so much work into this, GRBerry. It's looking good. JamesofMaine 01:19, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Inflow vs. Outflow

There are many private and public wells located around the lake in the sandy outwash soils. This may account for your discrepencies... also, is there really a need to mention Bigfoot in this article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.97.230.243 (talk) 18:17, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
