Sebastian Miniatures

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sebastian Miniatures are series of small ceramic sculptures first produced by Prescott W. Baston Sr. in 1938. Many pieces are of historical figures such as George Washington, but are also of classic literary characters, and scenes of life, particularly in New England where Mr. Baston created his pieces. Mr. Baston also created pieces specifically for commercial uses, such as in store promotions for products such as Jell-o. Mr. Baston continued to create pieces till his death in 1984. His son, Prescott W. Baston Jr. (aka Woody) created his first piece in 1981, and continues to create pieces.
