Please help me! I can not log into my account. I have not logged in for many months now, but the password that I was sure I was using is not accepted. I tried the "E-mail new password" option a few times, and waited several days for the message to arrive... but alas I am left helpless. I am nearly certain that I had my email address correctly entered into my account preferences. The email address that I was using is seanmadsen -AT- fastmail -DOT- fm. What I'd like to do (if possible) is get an administrator to reset my password and email a new password to that email. If that action is possible, but the administration doesn't want to send a new password to an email address that could potentially belong to a stranger (after all, I'm editing my talk page anonymously), then I suggest taking the following action. Send a new password to my personal email sean -AT- seanmadsen -DOT- com. It should be obvious that this email belongs to me because of the link to my personal home page www.seanmadsen.com on my user page which only I have edited. This homepage publicizes my personal email address, so I think that should be proof enough that I am... well... me.

This is not a time sensitive issue, but it is very important to me that I get my account back so that I can continue editing pages. I don't want to create a new account because that would make me very sad. I would really appreciate any help that anyone can give me. It is possible that you failed to properly confirm your e-mail address (I believe you have to click a link from a confirmation e-mail or somesuch thing). It is also possible that your spam-filtering software is blocking e-mails from wikipedia. Unfortunately, if this is not the case, then there is nothing anyone (even an admin) can do: you have to remember your password or create a new account. Algebraist 02:13, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
