The World Wide Web has grown from being a media delivery network that showcased companies and advertisers to a community-driven domain. The new web, named Web 2.0 provides ordinary users the ability to create their own content, those being involved in the content creation process. This is most evident by Wikis, Blogs, Photo Sharing sites and Podcasts. As Educators one of our goals is to incorporate the capabilities of new technologies into our classroom. By doing this we are also providing our students with essential skills that they will need to succeed in the job market. Below are a few Web 2.0 free Internet productivity tools that could be incorporated into your classroom.


1. SketchCast Lesson capture SketchCast is a web-site that allows you to create sketches with recorded voice. After you sign up to the service for free, you can start drawing your sketches and, when done, you can record your own voice to explain what you are doing. When you are finished, you can embed a video player on any web-site to display your sketch. Free to use. http://sketchcast.com/

2. ThinkFree Show Document Production & Storage ThinkFree Show is part of an online Office suite, ThinkFree online, and it allows you to create, edit, and share presentations online without buying any software. After a free registration, you are able to log in and start creating PPT presentations as if you were using Microsoft PowerPoint, and also to export them as PPT, PPS and images. 3. SlideShare PowerPoint Sharing SlideShare is a site where you can upload PowerPoint presentations and view those of others. It's a sharing site; it's the YouTube of PowerPoint. One difference is that some presentations are available for download. http://www.slideshare.net/


4. Switchpod.com Podcast/Audio Sharing Switchpod.com is a podcast host that allows podcasters to host their audio and video files. These audio and video files will be added to an rss feed, which people can use to download these files. Users can also download files right off Switchpod.
