Talk:Season structure of the NHL
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
About the following phrase in the first section
" The interconference division matchups rotate each season. The last two Stanley Cup Finals featured teams that did not meet during the regular season, the 2006 Stanley Cup Finalists: the Edmonton Oilers and Carolina Hurricanes did not play during the 2005–06 regular season and neither did the 2007 Stanley Cup Finalists: the Anaheim Ducks and Ottawa Senators did in the 2006–07 regular season."
They say one thing, then they said the opposite, can someone research this and make it right.
Never doubt that a group of commited people can change the world, indeed it is the only thing that ever has. (talk) 01:56, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
The section about the future of the NHL is inappropriate except to the degree is documenting current statements by authoritative sources about the future (see Wikipedia is not a crystal ball). Saying "The NHL has announced that in the future" with a source is appropriate - saying "Some people believe that in 2009" is not. The word "rumor" is a big red flag that someone should write a bot to flag. Wikipedia is not a gossip site or a fan site. The only cited source for the alternate formats gets a 404 error (I found it in archive.org).StreamingRadioGuide (talk) 02:47, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Dates
This article doesn't mention when in the calendar year things happen. When does the season start, when do playoffs start, etc, and how has it evolved over the years (and why)? Bhudson (talk) 02:49, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
