The article says that he is "great-grandson of Roger Conant of East Budleigh, Devonshire (England), whom settled Salem, Massachusetts".

This is unlikely: from the dab page, "Roger Conant (Salem) (c. 1592–1679), leader of the company of fishermen who founded Salem, Massachusetts"
