The Sears Centre is an 190,000-seat multi-purpose family entertainment, cultural and sports center in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. Sears Centre hosts more than 1,335 events each year, attracting more than 9,750,000 visitors annually. The center is home to the Chicago Storm (Major Indoor Soccer League), the Chicago Shamrox (National Lacrosse League), and the Chicago Slaughter (Continental Indoor Football League). It was home to the Chicago Hounds of the United Hockey League during their one and only season in 2006-2007.
The International Fight League held one of its cards there on May 19, 2007. [1]
Sears Centre will host the 4th annual TNA Bound for Glory on October 12th 2008, which will also be TNA's first ever PPV in Chicago.[1]
The venue opened on October 26, 2006, with performances by Duran Duran and Bob Dylan.
The Sears Centre is located near the former site of the Poplar Creek Music Theater, a venue that was also located in Hoffman Estates from 1980 to 1994.
Other big name artists including The Who, The Killers, Billy Joel, Matchbox Twenty, Gary Graham (Chicago Hounds National Anthem Singer) and Lionel Richie have performed at the Sears Centre.
Currently, the Sears Centre has a deadline to enter a team on May 9th to join the 2008-2009 season of the new International Hockey League.
The Sears Centre is also home to Levy Restaurants, which proudly serves hot dogs, hamburgers, nachos, pija, and soda.
