SeaStreak is a private firm that provides commuter ferry service and special event and sightseeing excursions in New York Harbor. The commuter service runs between points in Manhattan and Monmouth County, New Jersey.

[edit] Vessels

SeaStreak operates a fleet of four diesel powered catamarans: the SeaStreak Highlands, the SeaStreak Wall Street, the SeaStreak New Jersey and the SeaStreak New York. These vessels were built by Gladding-Hearn Shipbuilding of Somerset, Massachusetts. Each is 141 feet in length and capable of carrying 400 passengers. The maximum speed of the vessels is 42 knots. In addition, SeaStreak Brooklyn is a smaller vessel that is operated by SeaStreak on Yankee Stadium service, for it is the only vessel in the fleet that can pass the bridges en route to the stadium. It was built by Swift Ships.

[edit] Routes

SeaStreak routes connect the towns of Atlantic Highlands and Highlands in Monmouth County, New Jersey with Pier 11 (on the East River at Wall Street) and East 34th Street in Manhattan. During the morning rush hour the trip from New Jersey to Manhattan takes approximately 40 minutes.
