The result of the proposal was move the page to SDF-4, per the discussion below. It does not appear necessary to determine which name is canonical for naming purposes; the plain title is free for our use, and both of the claimant titles can redirect to it. In addition, please avoid moving articles by the cut-and-paste method (it has happened here at least twice). Dekimasuよ! 06:57, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
Although the name "Izumo" is seen in the original Genesis Climber Mospeada source, all the new published material, including The Art of Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles and the Collector's Edition DVD of Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles has identified the vessel as "Liberator" within the Robotech universe. I recommend moving this article back to SDF-4 and creating a separate article for the Izumo in context of Mospeada. --Corsair Armada (talk) 04:36, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
- I recommend against reverting the original move. The new material may contradict the Robotech television series, but Harmony Gold's own policy [1] dictates that the television series--and therefore, Izumo--takes precedence. 1-54-24 (talk) 08:16, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
- If you can cite it, it could be worth mentioning in the article. However, this is Wikipedia. We should not beholden to the policies of some company.--Corsair Armada 18:35, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
- FYI: The FAQ page that you linked to as "policy" also says: "some of these discrepancies can be found in even in the original television episodes." --Corsair Armada 19:54, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

- True, it should be cited, but that's separate from the movie issue. Ironically, you're asking for a move to be beholden to this same company's later discepancies. Policy over discrepancies. 1-54-24 15:01, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

- That sentence you only partly quoted specifically refers to "errors [that] occasionally can (and do) occur under rapid production schedules." The key is that this is not a discrepancy or error in the original television episodes. It's not an animation error or a misdubbed line. The television episodes consistently have the SDF-4 as the Izumo. There's no other name in the original television episodes. It's only the material in the last two years that have discrepancies inconsistent with the original television episodes. I plan to move the page back to its original place, since the discussion was not finished. 1-54-24 15:01, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
