[edit] Advantages

Sulfur lighting has several advantages over other commercially available technologies:

Quality of light. At a color temperature of 6000 K and a color rendering index (CRI) of 79, sulfur light closely resembles the sun's natural spectrum. Sulfur light is very low in harmful ultraviolet (<l%) and infrared (8%).

Efficiency. About as efficient as the best available high-pressure sodium lamps, with efficacies of 90-110 lumens per watt.

Long life. There are no filaments or electrodes to bum out or degrade. The magnetron is rated at 15,000 hours, while the lamp system is rated at 45,000 hours.

Lumen depreciation. Light output does not depreciate as significantly over the life of the lamp, as other technologies.

Dimmable. Sulfur technology allows dimming from 30-100% of full output.
