To-do list for Sculpture in India:

Here are some tasks you can do:
  • Expand: History (Ancient, Medieval, Modern), Styles, Future, Famous sculptors, Famous sculptures

[edit] Sections

To get started with INCOTW, we need the following sections:

  • History
    • Ancient
    • Medieval
    • Modern
  • Styles
  • Future
  • Famous sculptors
  • ...

Please suggest what more can be added, or any alternative ways of organizing the article. deeptrivia (talk) 18:17, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

Having a section on Foreign influences may be added if it is important but not enough of it can be written in the history. The FA most closely related is Buddhist art which only deals with history and styles. The styles section is divided geographically on Buddhist Art though it may be better here to divide by region and by religion because I'm certain Islam must have had a profound influence on Indian sculpture. Another possible addition can be "Famous sculptures" (inspired by the famous sculptors section). GizzaChat © 21:20, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
Regarding regional variations, we have to surely include the Chola (etc.) sculptures, Mathura and Gandhara schools. Can't think of any famous single sculptures, but of course, we have some popular sculpture themes, like Nataraja. Does someone know about modern sculpture in India? I've seen some weird ones in the Gallery of Modern Art in Delhi. deeptrivia (talk) 23:48, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
